Statement of Faith


OneLife Community Church is an evangelical church committed to the authority of Scripture in all matters of doctrine. Its faith is consistent with historical Christianity in all issues relating to the person and work of Jesus Christ. This faith believes that a dynamic encounter with the Holy Spirit is possible, similar to that spoken of in the book of Acts.

 

We Believe in and Practice The Following Basic Truths:

 

1. The inspiration and infallibility of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

 

2. The Godhead - comprising of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)

 

3. The Lord Jesus Christ - His humanity, deity, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death for the sins of the world, resurrection for our justification, ascension to the Fatherís right hand and personal return upon the earth (Hebrews 9:11)

 

4. Salvation by faith in and confession of Jesus Christ as Lord - an act producing an upright and moral life (John 3:16)

 

5. The Ordinances - Water Baptism for all believers by immersion (Matthew 28:19) (1 Corinthians 11:28) - Communion celebrated regularly in remembrance of Christ

 

6. Divine Healing - secured for every believer through the atonement of Jesus Christ and deliverance from all bondage to the power of Satan (James 5:14-16)

 

7. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit - with speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:1-4)

 

8. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit - for the equipping of ministry and edification of the Church (1 Corinthians 12:1-11)

 

9. The Fruit of the Holy Spirit - as the expression of Christian character in believers (Galatians 5:22-25)

 

10. The principle of giving/tithing to the local church in accordance with the scriptures (Malachi 3:8-12 & 2 Corinthians 9:7-8)

 

11. The Church Universal - comprising all born-again believers of all nations and denominations under the Lordship of Jesus Christ (John 3:3)

 

12. Bible Prophecy - its fulfillment in world events, heralding the climax of this Age and the return of the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 10:24-25)

 

13. Evangelism - soul-winning is the Great Commission given to the Church (James 5:20 - Mark 16:15 - 2 Corinthians 5:18-21)
