About Pastors David and Jackie Holt
David was born in Lithgow NSW, the fourth of six children. He was converted and filled with the Holy Spirit at the Lithgow AOG, aged fifteen.
Three years later, David met his wife Jackie, the eldest daughter of Pastors John and Dianne Gibson. At the time, John and Dianne were the pastors of the Lithgow AOG church.
Three years later in October 1984, David had a personal encounter with the Spirit of God that was to change their direction. Woken at about 1am with a prophetic word and a vision to establish a church in Orange and reach out to the western region of NSW, David asked God, “Why me, Lord? Who am I to do this and what qualifications do I have?”
After talking with the pastor about what had happened, the leadership and the congregation encouraged and released them to go. Armed with this encouragement and the prophetic word from God, they went with a vision to establish the plan of God for Orange. Since then, God has moved in a sovereign way and not only have thousands of lives have been ministered to, but incredible miracles of healing and restoration have taken place.
Orange COC started in the Red Cross Hall, McNamara Lane, Orange. Due to rapid growth, within 12 months the church had bought its own premises and residence on the corner of Clinton and Dalton Streets. Within another two years, the building was unable to hold the growth of the church and land was purchased to build on.
The church is now in its new complex on a 5 acre property situated on Molong Road. It consists of a 500 seating auditorium, youth lounge, kid’s church, office and administration area, along with a 63 space car park.
Orange COC was both the first church to be sown out of Taree COC and the first COC to be established in western NSW. Throughout their time at Orange, David and Jackie assisted in establishing several other churches throughout Western NSW.
In September 1989, David, Jackie and their two children, Matthew and Naomi, were called to pastor Shellharbour COC. The church had been established for two years.
After a couple of moves, in 1992 the church leased the ground floor of the old Shellharbour Workers Club, situated on the corner of Mary and Addison Streets Shellharbour. Under David and Jackieís leadership, the church undertook an extensive renovations project consisting of a 500 seating auditorium, Manna Bookshop, a 200 seat function room / Kids Church, Training Centre rooms and an administration and office area. During this time, David and Jackie compiled and completed a Training Manual to equip leadership for ministry to the local area and beyond.
The church then purchased over 3 acres of land and began building their new complex which has a seating capacity (stage 1) of 800. Incorporated into the complex are a bookshop, coffee shop, ministry training centre, offices and administration block, kid’s church, youth lounge and function room. After many sovereign miracles, the church complex was officially opened in early 2003.
David and Jackie now have four children, having added two daughters, Jasmin and Jessica, to their family. Through their leadership, the Shellharbour City COC experienced tremendous growth and has ministered to a congregation of around 600 people. In summary, David’s ministry is well known throughout the Australian churches for the powerful gifting and prophetic mantle on his life. David has travelled to several countries to minister in churches and at conferences. He has served as a member of the national/international oversight and served for twenty years as an area chairman of the COC movement.
In April 2008, after having served the COC movement for 27 years, David and Jackie felt led to resign their positions to pursue the vision and call of God on their lives. They have now planted the first OneLife Community Church in the Southern Highlands of NSW in the Old Westpac bank building in Moss Vale. They are also a member of the Southern Cross Association of Churches.
Both David and Jackies’ vision and hearts desire, is to see people yield their lives to Gods’ saving, healing and delivering power of restoration.
